Puff Pastry Mince Pies (2025)

The Review

I had some puff pastry mince pies last year from M&S and I quite enjoyed them. Saw these bad boys in the local Aldi this week and decided to get a box in ma belly. Was pleasantly surprised at the size when I opened the box, and I do admit to letting out an “oh my”. I have to say, it was a good mince pie. As discussed on other reviews, I do like to get a good ratio of pastry to filling. With the traditional pastry you get on most pies, I think with the amount you get with this puff pastry one, that golden ratio would be off. But, with puff pastry, I think it works. There isn’t much filling, it has to be said, but what filling there was works well.
I didn’t really until I’d eaten it, that the wrapping says “heat to eat”. Oopsie. Never mind, it was still good cold. Maybe I shall heat the next one and have custard and/or clotted cream and/or brandy cream. Nom nom nom.
